spring into science: all-day workshops (grade 2-5)

Get ready to dive into the world of science with our interactive spring themed workshops led by experienced instructors. Whether you're a science enthusiast or just looking to have some fun, this event is perfect for all ages. Don't miss out on this opportunity to learn, explore, and have a blast with Science AL!VE! Participants will attend 3-4 different workshops throughout the day and have option for a hot lunch with an additional fee.

Spring Into Gardening

Participants will learn about seed germination, plant growth, and the nutrients essential for healthy plants. The workshop also explores soil composition and biodiversity, highlighting the role of low-growing plants in ecosystems. Through hands-on planting activities, participants will gain a deeper appreciation for sustainable gardening.

Spring Into Pollinators

This workshop explores the vital role of pollinators in plant reproduction and the impact of their decline due to human activity. Participants will learn how bees and other pollinators support ecosystems and take part in a project to create habitats that encourage pollination.

Spring Into Tree Rings

Participants will discover how tree rings provide insights into environmental history, including past climate conditions and natural events. By learning to read tree rings, they will better understand how trees serve as living records of ecological change.

Spring Into Bird Feeders

This workshop examines the effects of human activity on biodiversity and wildlife food sources. While exploring the benefits and potential risks of bird feeders, participants will discuss responsible ways to support local bird populations without harming the environment.
