Power Girls Diversifying steam Instructor, Science AL!VE (part-TIME)
As part of our efforts to create inclusive, bias-free learning environments that advance gender equity, our Girls and Young Women Programs welcome gender-diverse youth, including but not limited to cis girls, trans girls, non-binary youth, gender non-conforming youth, Two-Spirit youth, and genderqueer youth. Diversifying STEAM, funded by NSERC PromoScience, is a program with a problem-based learning approach to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Design, Mathematics) education. It aims to empower traditionally under-represented groups in science and engineering. Instructors will plan and deliver high-quality STEAM weekend workshops and seasonal break camps to female/non-binary participants by creating a safe and exciting learning space.
Surrey school district Diversifying steam Instructor, Science AL!VE (part-TIME)
Instructors will be delivering program at an elementary school in Surrey. Junior STEAM Instructor, Science AL!VE (Part-time)
Junior Instructors are high school students who will be delivering school-year outreach programming across the Lower Mainland, including Pro-D Day camps, weekend workshops, and community events. Science AL!VE is an educational initiative based at Simon Fraser University that promotes hands-on, inquiry-based learning in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Design, Mathematics). The program aims to inspire curiosity and confidence in youth, with a focus on inclusive and accessible education. Instructors will provide high-quality instruction while supporting volunteers and fostering a safe, engaging learning environment for all participants.
