Financial Aid Bursaries

Changes have been made to our bursary program for the 2025 summer camp season. If you are a returning participant, please read below.

Bursary Support for Programs

The Faculty of Applied Sciences Outreach (with Science AL!VE) is committed to making our programs accessible to all youth. We offer 25%, 50%, 75%, and 90% bursaries based on financial need, with bursary amounts varying by program type:

  • Pro-D Day Camps, 1-Day Spring Break Camps, & Half-Day Spring Break Camps: Eligible for up to 75% bursary support to assist more families across multiple shorter-term programs.

  • Summer Camps: Eligible for up to 90% bursary support due to their longer duration and greater accessibility funding.

These bursary levels help us balance financial assistance while ensuring the sustainability of our programs.

You may request a bursary for up to three sessions of the same program per child.

  • Summer Camps: Select camps based on the grade your child will be entering in the 2025/2026 school year.

  • Year-Round Programs (Pro-D Day Camps & Spring Break Camps): Select camps based on your child's current grade in the 2024/2025 school year.

Example: If your child is eligible, you could apply for a bursary for three different summer camps, three Pro-D Day camps, and three Spring Break camps—allowing up to three bursary requests per program type.

If you are applying for multiple children, please submit a separate form for each child.

Notes About Submitting an Application

  • Choosing 3 programs does not mean you are guaranteed a spot, we will do our best to allocate bursaries based on available space.

  • You are able to request up to 3 bursaries for each ypes of programs offered at Science AL!VE in one form (ie. 3 requests for Pro-D Day Camps, 3 requests for Spring Break Camps, and 3 requests Summer Camps are all considered to be different programs)

  • Submitting digital copies of your NOA is optional starting in 2025. However, if you believe it will help demonstrate your financial need, you are welcome to include it with your application. Please note that we may reach out if verification is required.

Important Notes Regarding Bursary Percentage

  • If you submit your bursary application by the early bird deadline, the bursary percentage will be applied to the early bird fee.

  • If you submit your bursary application after the early bird deadline, the bursary. percentage will be applied to the regular fee.

  • We ask that parents/guardians apply for bursaries based on their current needs. These bursaries enable us to extend our reach to youth who may otherwise be unable to participate in our programs due to financial barriers.

These differences help us balance funding across all our programs, making them as accessible as possible while maintaining quality and availability. If you have any questions about bursary eligibility, please contact us!
