model makers lab | $465 early bird: $415
topics covered: architectural design, engineering, model building
Ever wonder how architects design towering structures or how engineers bring complex machines to life? Get ready for a week where imagination meets precision on a miniature scale. Campers explore the worlds of engineering and architecture through hands‑on model building, experimenting with shapes, structures, and design techniques as they create small‑scale versions of their big ideas. Whether they’re crafting tiny buildings, vehicles, or imaginative constructions of their own, each day invites them to think like designers while building something uniquely theirs.
the (board)game makers lab | $465 early bird: $415
topics covered: game mechanics, strategy, design
What makes a game strategic, balanced, or just plain fun? Campers dive into the world of board game design as they explore mechanics, probability, storytelling, and player experience. Through hands‑on prototyping, playtesting, and iteration, they build their own original games while learning how math and science shape every decision. By the end of the week, they’ll have a game that’s been tested, refined, and ready to play.
wattson’s wonderland (tech) | $495 early bird: $445
topics covered: c/c++ programming
Do you have the next big idea? Welcome to a fast-paced, 5-day inventor’s camp where you will work in a team to design, build, and pitch a tech gadget! You’ll move from concept to a working prototype using the versatile Arduino platform and powerful C/C++ programming. Learn to write real code to control electronics—reading sensors, triggering alarms, and displaying data. We’ll guide you through product design, coding logic, and presentation as you solve a real-world problem with your invention. On the final day, you will step into Wattson’s Wonderland to pitch your working prototype, business plan, and catchy slogan to a panel of expert judges. This is your chance to bring an invention to life!
*Please note that our tech camps typically focus 50% on application based activities, and 50% on hands-on, unplugged activities away from the computer.
