Code doesn’t have to stay trapped inside a computer screen! In this hands-on workshop, we’re exploring "physical computing" by using an Arduino, a tiny, beginner-friendly computer, to make electronics talk to your code. It’s perfect for tinkerers, builders, and anyone curious about how smart devices actually work. You'll learn how to safely wire up miniature circuits on a breadboard, connect LEDs, push-buttons, and sensors, and write simple C++ code to make lights blink and spin motors. If you love the idea of bringing your code into the real world, this workshop is an incredible stepping stone into exciting fields like robotics, electrical or mechanical engineering, and product design.

When you see hackers in movies typing furiously on a black screen with green text, they aren't using a mouse, they are using the Terminal! While we won't be hacking any mainframes, we will teach you the secret language of your computer in a way that is fun, welcoming, and completely beginner-friendly. Putting the mouse away for the day, you will learn how to navigate your system, create folders, and edit code using only your keyboard and text commands. We'll introduce you to Vim, a legendary text-based code editor, and Git with GitHub, the ultimate "save button" that professionals use to track and share their projects. By the end of the day, you’ll feel like a total tech wizard, giving you a head start if you ever want to explore cybersecurity, data science, artificial intelligence, or really anything with a computer.
