How to Replit

Using a collaborative web-based tool to teach coding to Grade 8-12 youths: Opportunities and challenges.

Workshop description

There is growing interest in introducing coding to youths and integrating coding into other subjects such as science and mathematics. To this end, effective tools are required for teaching coding and fostering interactions and collaborations among teachers and students. In this workshop, we will describe how we use Replit Teams for Education to teach coding to Grade 8-12 youths in STEM outreach programs at SFU’s Faculty of Applied Sciences. Replit is a collaborative web-based tool that supports various popular programming languages, including Python, Java, and HTML/CSS. Join us to learn more!
