Coding for Social Change
The Coding for Social Change program is a series of nine virtual workshops that run every Saturday. In this beginner-friendly workshop series, Grade 7-9 students will build an app using Thunkable, which is a drag-and-drop app builder.
They will also plan their app design through creating paper prototypes, discuss issues related to ethical design of mobile apps, apply basic coding concepts, and communicate their project in a way that is accessible and meaningful to a general audience. All workshops will be offered virtually via Zoom.
Please check back later to sign up for future offerings of the program or stay up-to-date on our upcoming programs by signing up for our monthly program newsletter.
Watch the video to check out one of our student’s final project presentation!
On the final day of the program, students will prepare a four-minute flash talk and app demo for their projects.
The presentation showed here is created by Aman Charchun, who was a student in our Fall 2021 cohort.
